Cord and braid has been made around the world for thousands of years. It is the simplest form of textile weaving and can be used for a huge variety of purposes, from simple string or rope to decorative braids for jewellery or decoration.
Lucets (or Lucettes) are simple tools to enable quick and easy braid making. The earliest Lucet forks have been found in Britain from the 11th century and would have been made from a variety of materials such as metal, wood and bone.
These kits contain everything you need to make your own Lucet braid and learn a traditional craft. The lucets themselves are made from sustainable Scottish Oak wood and fit nicely in the palm of the hand. The yarn is premium dyed Shetland wool in a variety of natural colours.
Each kit also comes with a meticulously researched information and instruction booklet printed on parchment paper. Not only does it have easy to use instructions, but also contains information on the history of lucet braid and archaeological evidence.
Each kit contains:
1x Premium 7.5" Oak Lucet Fork
1x High Quality Information and Instruction Booklet
5x 10m Premium Dyed Shetland Wool in Assorted Colours
Priced at £15 each
