Blacksmiths in the early medieval period would often be tasked with the making of axeheads as tools, but could also be required to manufacture war-axes and spearheads during times of conflict. As they require little in the way of specialist training to make, the community blacksmith would craft these items for their local warriors or lord.
Our spearheads and axeheads are hand forged by a specialist blacksmith, to designs made just for Present Past. These are blunted, 'battle-ready' items for use in re-enactment and living history events. The axeheads all have a minimum of 3mm blunted and rounded edge to the blade and our spearheads all have a rounded ball-end of minimum 10mm diameter. Depending on the size of weapon piece, these are made of mild steel or EN45 carbon-steel.
These pieces are sold as the heads only, however the axeheads can be supplied hafted to a suitably sized and shaped piece of ash if preferred.
These items will be available to purchase soon. ***Pictures Pending***
